Food events at Barr Mansion are always delightful.
The Northeast Austin venue, which also happens to be certified organic and a zero-waste facility, hosts the Farm to Plate fundraiser for the Sustainable Food Center and a number of other food events every year.
From 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, the folks who run Farmgrass Fest are hosting a Farm to Feast fundraiser dinner at Barr Mansion with chef Fermin Nunez, who has spent time at Fresa’s, La Condesa and L’Oca d’Ora.
Local farmers will be in attendance, and Farmhouse Delivery is providing the produce, with beer from Independence Brewing, live music from Lil Darlin and a live auction. All proceeds go to the nonprofit, whose May 12-13 bluegrass festival at Simmons Family Farm raises money for a fund that supports farmers in case of medical emergencies.
Tickets to the feast cost $95 on farmgrassfest.com, where you can also buy tickets for the music festival in May.
This year’s lineup includes Shinyribs, Whiskey Shivers, Hot Club of Cowtown, The Lost Pines, High Plains Jamboree and Lil Darlin.
