cover88035-mediumHave you picked up any pecans this year?

Pecans are one of the easiest foods to forage in Austin, especially this time of year, and later this month, you can learn more about foraging in Central Texas at a dinner downtown.

On Saturday, Nov. 12, Emmer & Rye is teaming up with foraging expert John Slattery, who has a new book out called “Southwest Foraging: 117 Wild and Flavorful Edibles from Barrel Cactus to Wild Oregano.”

The 6 p.m. dinner will feature ingredients that you can forage throughout Texas and the Southwest, including palo verde beans, black nightshade berries and wild acorns. Tickets ($125 at emmerandrye.com) include a copy of the guidebook.
