WATCH: Taste testing a charcoal-based spice rub

For the past year or so, I’ve been experimenting with various platforms for trying new products that get sent my way. First, we were producing taste test videos for Austin360.com, and then we moved on to livestreaming via Periscope. Now that Facebook Live is gaining traction, well, it’s hard to say “no” to having a built-in audience of users already on the service. (I hated leaving Periscope. Such a fun app!)

You can catch the video live around noon on Wednesdays, but you can also watch after it’s over on the Austin360 Facebook page. Last week, I tried a new meat seasoning mix with activated charcoal from Austinite Jess Pryles that is called Hardcore Carnivore. I’d had activated charcoal in lemonade before, but never on meat. Was it any good? You’ll have to check out the video. 🙂
